University of South Carolina

I'm a pre-pharmacy major freshman at USC, but I also grew up in Columbia!

Hi! My name is Claire Reed. I am a freshman here at USC and studying pre-pharmacy. I grew up in East Columbia, about 10 minutes from campus, and know my way around very well. I'm a member of a sorority and a few campus groups and would love to talk to you about your decision to potentially attend USC, but also let you see the beautiful campus and what it has to offer!

Describe your college experience

It has been great since I had so many people I knew who had been to Carolina before me. It was definitely scary at first finding roommates and reaching out to people in attempt to make friends, but keeping in mind that everybody is just as nervous is so important. I thankfully found a great group of roommates and we are all involved in so many different things that keep us all active on campus and making friends and memories.

Favorite class

Calculus. My calculus instructor makes the class fun and interesting. I have never been good at math and have always struggled, but I was able to score a 100 on our first exam because of him.

Career goals

I hope to be a hospital pharmacist

Ideal way to spend a free night

It really depends. I love just going out to eat with friends, staying in my bed and watching tv, or just driving around with my friends when we are bored.
