Marissa - undergraduate student at USC
Hi! I'm Marissa, a freshman studying Business Administration at USC (Marshall School of Business). I was born and raised in Beijing (讲中文!) but moved to North Carolina when I was 12. Being from the East Coast and somewhat of an international background, I know all about the uncertainties prospective students face when considering their college choices. Whether it's the campus culture, the distance between classes, or the dining halls, I can hep answer all those questions for you!

Clubs, organizations & involvement
I am currently enrolled in the Global Leadership Program - an invite-only class that doubles as a study abroad experience. I'm also working at the MBA office as a front desk, helping with tasks ranging from answering emails to organizing events. I'm also getting ready to join clubs in my area of focus (consulting) but I have lots of insight into many different clubs, shared by friends!

Describe your college experience
It's been everything I expected! The freedom and independence are amazing - I can set my own schedule, pick my study spots, and meet people from all kinds of backgrounds! The homesickness hits me from time to time, but I've been finding ways to cope with it - another thing I'm super open to share about!
Favorite class
I'm taking a General Education Seminar about Ancient Rome. It's a 15-person class focusing on, well, Ancient Rome. The class atmosphere is amazing and I love my interactions with my professor and peers.
Career goals
My goals right now is to get into consulting, but I'm also opening my search to anything finance related - since my major is very finance-focused.
Ideal way to spend a free night
I like to go on spontaneous trips with my friends - anything from going on a late night snack run to going to Santa Monica. I like to be in the moment, so I don't necessarily mind what we do as long as I'm with friends!
