Describe your college experience
As a transfer student, it was a shock to me to come into such large classes, and my grades reflected that. Coming from a smaller school and receiving great grades it was definitely disappointing. But, the school has so many provided resources that are no extra cost that if you jump right on top of them upon starting your classes, you will make out fine is what I learned the hard way.
Favorite class
My favorite class so far has been ANSC105 which is horse care practicum because it is such a fun way to work with a few other students and get hands on work experience with the horses on the campus farm. It is also a very minor commitment of a class to take!
Career goals
After college I hope to attend veterinary school with a concentration on large animal medicine.
Ideal way to spend a free night
I am very homebody, so spending a night (let’s assume I have no homework or studying to do) I enjoy a cozy night in, hanging out with friends, having a nice dinner/dessert, watching some TV, etc. I also love to go out to eat and shop!
High school or secondary school
Cambridge South Dorchester High School Cambridge, MD
Previous college
Chesapeake College Wye Mills, MD My previous school was a community college on the eastern shore of Maryland, which I obtained my associate degree in biological sciences, and transferred it to University of Maryland. Coming from a Maryland institution, my credits rolling over into the school were pretty straightforward and having an associate degree made it easier as it knocked off all of my general education credits except for professional writing, which you take at University of Maryland.
