Describe your college experience
I was admitted to VT in the fall of 2020 during the height of the pandemic so my first year at VT was fairly different than the average freshman experience, that being said, it was still quite enjoyable and everyone made the most out of the limited experience. For numerous years I was involved in recreational sports specifically club soccer which was a lot of fun. As a student you can get fairly cheap season tickets for the different sports going on, there's a great combo deal for football and basketball season tickets. VT has great networking opportunities and career fairs offered throughout the fall and spring semesters, some being for specific departments, others being for specific majors.
Tip for future students
Make sure you to do some research into the different dorms around campus and select your preferred dorm as early as you can; All of the dorm buildings are decent however some are older than others and do not have ac, for example Miles dorm. Make sure to check out all of the different dinning halls around campus as each has numerous great restaurants.
Favorite class
My favorite class was FST 3124 - Brewing Science and Technology. I originally signed up for this class just to fulfill an elective requirement however I ended up finding the class to be very interesting and the course content was very easy to keep up with.
Career goals
I hope to get a job working in either asset & portfolio management or acquisitions and mergers for real estate investments.
Ideal way to spend a free night
I tend to either stay in and enjoy a quiet night in gaming / watching TV or I'll hang out with friends and occasionally go downtown.
