Describe your college experience

Even though I'm from NYC, transitioning to Columbia (and college in general) felt like a new stage in my life. The academics are challenging, but I was fortunate to receive great support from my professors and TA's. I’ve also made amazing friends who are all super kind and uniquely brilliant. I’d love to share my perspective as a student and New Yorker to help others feel at home here!

Tip for future students

People often think Columbia is a super cutthroat Ivy, but honestly, that hasn’t been my experience at all. Everyone here is so supportive—whether it’s sharing notes, forming study groups, or just encouraging each other through tough weeks. The professors are super approachable and really want to see you succeed.

Favorite class

Literature Humanities! Some students complain about this course because there's a lot of reading, but I had an amazing professor who introduced me to a whole new world of literature analysis and the beauty of the literary canon. It completely changed the way I read.

Career goals

I hope to work in a research lab developing drugs to combat high-burden diseases like malaria, cardiovascular disease, and cancer.

Ideal way to spend a free night

Getting together with my friends for a night in-- complete with music, snacks, and some board games.
