Honors College Junior Graduating Early at CofC

Hi, I'm Sophie, a student at the College of Charleston, graduating in Spring 2025. I'm part of the honors college at CofC, and through that program, I've had lots of cool experiences, such as volunteering through Honors Engaged, studying abroad through Honors Immersed, and writing a Bachelor's Essay for Honors Directed. Charleston has truly been a great city to study in, and I would love to share my experiences with others, as it is not as well known to students from farther out of state.

Describe your college experience

Going to college was a completely different experience for me as my parents were also moving out of state at the same time I went off to school. Because of this I have truly made Charleston my home and fell in love with the city.

Tip for future students

Get as out of your comfort zone as possible and always say yes to new opportunities because you never know who you will meet and how your experiences can impact your future self and your goals in life.

Favorite class

My favorite class was my history class freshman year entitled Revolutionary Lives about narratives of revolutionary movements in Latin America in the 20th century. It was a totally new subject matter for me and partially inspired by bachelor's essay project this year.

Career goals

Because I'm graduating early, I'm looking at getting my masters degree abroad, either in London or Paris, in Finance.

Ideal way to spend a free night

I love to spend a free night with my friends either just hanging out at home or walking around the city
