University of Maryland
First-year anthropology student at the University of Maryland
Hi folks! I am a first-year anthropology student looking to pursue the pre-law track at the University of Maryland. I come from the loving state of Virginia and I am a literature fanatic. In my free time, I go on runs, grub with my friends, or go to a Mckeldin study room and binge watch movies. I chose the University of Maryland initially because of a gut feeling but I have grown to love the institution and proudly call it my home.

Describe your college experience
My college experience so far has been a major shift. I always believed that finding myself was going to be an important part of my college experience and I have been able to do that whether it's been through going on late night rendevous with my friends or locking myself up in mckeldin for 14 hours during finals season. I have failed numerous times. I've gotten rejected from positions that I really wanted and I've failed calc tests before but through those trials, I have learned so much about who I am, how I study, how I handle rejections, and what I do to move forward. College has been liberating for me and I've gotten that unique experience at the University of Maryland and cringe at the thought of myself in any other institution. My professors and fellow classmates have taught me so much about everything I was interested in from integrals to philosophy, from debating about gotham city and batman to social media activism. The University of Maryland has blessed me with more opportunities and experiences that I could have hoped for and I could not be happier with where I am and the school I chose.
Tip for future students
The most important tip I have for future students is to never overestimate yourself. My first semester, I took 18 credits and it turned out to be much more grueling than I would have expected. Another tip I have is to
Favorite class
My favorite class so far has been my scholars class MLAW 100. I have learned so much applicable and interesting information than I have in any of my other classes and I have met some of the greatest people in that class. We learned about social movements and grassroots activism which I have been able to apply in many of my academic conversations and research whether it be casually or in a professional setting such as debate.
Career goals
After college, I either want to be an environmental lawyer or an urban planner/architect in a big city like New York or Seattle.
Ideal way to spend a free night
My ideal way to spend a free night is to be locked up in my dorm room with my girls and a bunch of snacks just yapping away and then walking to insomnia where we get a warm cookie and then come back and yap some more.
