Hi!! My name is Mia, I am a sophomore at Florida State majoring in finance. I am involved in many clubs and organizations on campus, and I lived in a dorm last year, so I know my way around pretty well. I love FSU so much and would love to help future Noles have a great first experience on campus!

Describe your college experience

My transition to college was, in all honesty, somewhat difficult at first. Being away from home and having to manage my own time wisely was a big adjustment. However, FSU provides so many tools to help make the adjustment to the work/life balance much easier. Waking up early, spending mornings before class at Strozier library, going to class, and going to the Leach after for a nice break became my staple routine freshman year. getting more involved on campus also helped me to branch out and make friends. Now, I can say with confidence that coming to Florida State has shaped me as a person for the better academically, socially, and mentally.

Tip for future students

Some tips I would give to future students are to plan your days on google calendar, get involved, and to not be scared to step outside of your comfort zone.

Favorite class

My favorite class so far has been MAR3023, Intro to Marketing. This was the first online class I ever tok, and I was unsure what to expect. However, the professor made every single lecture video so engaging, and the content was something I was interested in. i recommend this class to anyone with a business major or minor.

Career goals

After college, I hope to secure a stable job in the finance field. I also hope that this job involves some sort of traveling, because traveling is one of my passions- I am actually studying abroad this summer!

Ideal way to spend a free night

My ideal way to spend a free night is either hanging out with friends or going to the gym. Nothing is better after a busy day than being able to unwind, and those are my two favorite ways to do so.
