UNC Chapel Hill Class of 2027, Media & Journalism Major
Hi! I'm a student in my second year at UNC Chapel Hill. Picking a college is a big decision, and I'll do everything I can to make that decision easier by answering any questions you might have about what it means to be a Tar Heel. Some of my biggest interests are journalism and social justice, so I can definitely go into more detail about how to engage with those things on campus if you're interested. I'm also an in-state student, so I'm happy to chat about all things North Carolina!

Describe your college experience
I've had a really positive experience with transitioning to college. Having my own space and the freedom to create my own daily routine has been really good for me. I love being surrounded by my peers and the community that exists on campus. Everywhere I go, I know I can find common ground with someone. Overall, while there are definitely pros and cons at UNC, I think college life really suits me. It's truly what you make it.
Favorite class
My favorite class was MEJO 153 (Writing and Reporting). I knew I wanted to study journalism, but the first day of this class I had an epiphany that I was exactly where I was meant to be. It was the kind of feeling I thought only existed in movies. I genuinely learned so much from this class that I've been able to apply to my job at the Daily Tar Heel. I don't think I'm exaggerating by saying this class changed my life.
Career goals
After college, I want to pursue journalism as a career. I don't know where exactly I'll end up, but right now I'm imagining myself moving to New York City or Washington, D.C., to write for a major paper. I'm still on the fence about grad school, but I'd love to continue my education after getting my B.A.
Ideal way to spend a free night
A great night for me would include grabbing dinner with friends at my favorite local restaurant and possibly going to see a movie. After that, I usually like to just have a night in at my dorm.
