University of Pennsylvania
2nd Year Masters Student in Bioengineering
Hello! I am a second year grad student studying bioengineering, focusing in medical devices and neuroengineering. I am originally from California, but did my undergrad in the Philadelphia area as well (studying Biology and Neuroscience at Bryn Mawr College). In my free time I enjoy exploring Philly with my dog, reading, playing guitar, and playing board games with friends. I'm excited to connect with prospective and future students!

Describe your college experience
Moving across the country for college without any family nearby was tough at first, but it ended up being easier than I expected because of the people here. Everyone was really welcoming, and I found it pretty easy to build a new community. It’s been a great experience, and I’ve been surprised by how open and happy people are to connect.
Tip for future students
Step out of your comfort zone and say yes to new opportunities!
Favorite class
My favorite class was Applied Medical Innovation because it was so hands-on and practical. We got to go through the entire process of identifying a need gap in medical devices, brainstorming ideas, and developing and pitching a prototype to address it. It felt much more applicable to real-world jobs than any other class I’ve taken, and I loved seeing how what we learned could make a real impact.
Career goals
I want to build medical devices that improve the lives of people with disabilities, focusing on creating technology that truly makes a difference. I’m especially interested in working on neurodevices like seizure preventers, tremor suppressors, or hands-free communication tools.
Ideal way to spend a free night
My ideal free night is hosting a board game night with any friends that can join. We eat snacks and play easy games that get ridiculously competitive.
