Describe your college experience

I was initially studying microbiology on a pre-med track, but later took on an internship position that made me explore other career avenues. It was during that time that I rediscovered my passion for languages and began to take several linguistics courses, which led me to declaring a major in Linguistics! My college experience has been very positive, and I look forward to starting a new chapter.

Tip for future students

I wish I had allowed myself to be more uncomfortable and try new things earlier on in my college career. In many ways, you are ultimately your biggest enemy, and it is important to recognize that your mindset is everything! I also wish I had learned to balance my work, academic, and personal life earlier on.

Favorite class

My favorite class has been Spanish 410, which is an advanced Spanish phonetics course.

Career goals

I hope to matriculate into a PhD program in theoretical linguistics and then later work within the linguistic sector of the government.

Ideal way to spend a free night

When I have free time, I love going to local bachata and salsa socials.
