Describe your college experience
College has been an absolute blast! Living away from home was tough at first, but I’ve made some amazing friends and discovered so much about the Bay Area. Being at Berkeley has been a dream come true - I’ve tried out new hobbies and challenged myself with some really cool classes.
Tip for future students
Here are some tips I’d give to future students: make friends from different ethnic groups. When I was in high school, most of my friends were Latino, but when I went to college, I met people from all over the world. It’s important to broaden your horizons and make friends with people who are different from you.
Favorite class
My favorite class so far has been my Border Geography class. This class we explore the relationships that countries south of the border and the Caribbean island have in relation to the United States. This class has offered me the opportunity to be able to do research on a community in the Bay Area.
Career goals
After Berkeley, I’m aiming to go to law school and become an immigration attorney. I want to be able to help people in my community.
Ideal way to spend a free night
The best way to spend the night is to try out a new restaurant in Berkeley or take a BART ride to San Francisco and check out the city’s cool stuff.
