Describe your college experience

I came here as a graduate student from the University of Nebraska, so there was a lot to acclimate to. The physical environment of Chestnut Hill is atypical that of the standard college town. The three campuses, Chestnut Hill (main), Newton (Freshman Residential Halls & Law School), and Messina (New Associate Program Initiative) are situated primarily within residential areas. The surrounding premises are a notable distance from local businesses, exception being the small strip across from Chestnut Hill campus. However; the green-line trolly has a Boston College Station which runs to Chestnut Hill, making transportation to and from Boston convenient. Academically my experience has been outstanding. The professors are of the outmost quality and highly respected in their fields. Additionally, the resources the university dedicates to its programs are impressive. There are always an abundance of activities; colloquiums, conferences, and scholarly clubs scheduled routinely. The facilities are also marvelous. Stokes Hall, where most of my classes take place is an example of the their dedication to establishing a great learning environment. It is a beautiful building with allocated space for study, research and even a cafe. Boston College as a community has been remarkable in their prioritization of the care of the person. The community genuinely cares - values they abstract from their Jesuit and Catholic core.
