Describe your college experience

Transitioning to college at the University of Illinois was smooth for me, thanks to my familiarity with the campus and its culture from my older sister’s time here. Being a finance major at the Gies College of Business, I quickly immersed myself in campus life, joining various organizations like the Business Council, which helped me build connections and develop professionally. One of the highlights of my college experience was studying abroad in Barcelona, where I gained a global perspective on business and made unforgettable memories. Over the years, I’ve formed strong friendships that have become a core part of my journey. Professionally, I secured an internship with Ernst & Young, which led to a full-time offer—an achievement I’m incredibly proud of. Overall, my college experience has been both enriching and transformative.

Tip for future students

For future students, my biggest tip is to join organizations early. Getting involved is one of the best ways to discover your passions, build skills, and meet new people who can become lifelong friends. The sooner you immerse yourself in campus life, the easier it is to find your place and make the most of your college experience. I wish I had known just how valuable these connections and experiences would be—not just for personal growth but also for professional opportunities down the road. Don't be afraid to step out of your comfort zone and explore all that U of I has to offer!

Favorite class

Two of my favorite classes have been Public Speaking and Personal Wealth Management. Public Speaking was invaluable because it gave me the confidence and skills to communicate effectively, which has been crucial in both professional and social settings. Personal Wealth Management, as a finance major, stood out because it was incredibly practical and applicable to real life. The lessons I learned about managing finances, investing, and planning for the future have had a direct impact on how I approach my daily life and long-term goals. Both classes provided skills that I know I’ll carry with me for years to come.

Career goals

After college, I’m excited to start my full-time role at Ernst & Young as a Tech Risk Assurance professional. It’s an incredible opportunity to gain experience in the field and develop a strong foundation in risk management and technology. Looking ahead, I have aspirations of becoming an entrepreneur. My goal is to one day create and grow my own business, leveraging the skills and knowledge I’ve gained throughout college and my career. I’m eager to combine my passion for finance and innovation to make a meaningful impact in the business world.

Ideal way to spend a free night

My ideal way to spend a free night would be hanging out with friends, whether it’s a relaxed evening catching up or heading out to dinner together. I love exploring new restaurants or enjoying favorite spots around town. It’s the perfect way to unwind, share some laughs, and create great memories with the people I care about most.
