North Carolina State University
Hi! I'm a Double Major in Computer Science & Business Admin who's very involved!
Hi, I'm Makayla! I've lived in North Carolina my whole life, and NC State was the school I always wanted to go to. It has lived up to all my expectations and more! My academics are hard, but I play hard as well. I've been involved in many on campus clubs, and have developed an awesome network of friends because of that! I love little adventures and exploring (so aka I know lots about Raleigh as well as State :)). I am a positive, friendly person, and I've had a lot of different experiences here at state that I would love to share. I can't wait to meet you!

Describe your college experience
My College experience has had its ups and downs. I really struggled with the transition my freshman semester, and my grades paid the price. However, the effort I built into building community really paid off, as they, along with the school, got my back on my feet. Every since then my college life has been filled with many late nights at the library studying, Sorority and Church events, and hanging out with friends.
Tip for future students
NC State provides so many resources and opportunities for students for all sorts of things, do a little research and use them! Think about where you might need support, or an area you would like to learn more about, or someone you would like to talk too. 99% chance the university or someone here can get you the resources or connections you need with little to no hassle at all, take advantage of it!
Favorite class
My favorite class has been discrete math, or operations and supply chain management, both of which are most likely unpopular opinions. Both deal with math that helps find runtimes and does analysis of different situations. These classes are hard, and a lot of work no doubt and that part is not fun. However, I love the content of these courses, and the content is super applicable to all my other classes. There are lots of classes in college you may not like and still have to take, so liking the subject/content makes all the difference! Plus, my professors were super awesome :)
Career goals
I hope to work in the tech world, and then start my own business after college!
Ideal way to spend a free night
On a free night I will usually call up my friends and see who's available! we will do anything ranging from lounging outside or a movie night, to going downtown for dinner or going out! Generally anything with a relaxed schedule and good vibes.
