I am a staff writer for Her Campus at FSU, where I biweekly write articles on culture, lifestyle, and campus. I also plan to join their social media team next fall to further develop my marketing skills. Additionally, I am a member of BRASA (Brazilian Student Association) and serve on the Outreach Committee, where I help promote the organization to other students interested in the club and our events.

Describe your college experience

My college experience has been great so far! I’ve found a good balance between academics and social life. Since finishing high school, I’ve had more free time than ever, allowing me to go to the gym regularly and to watch movies with friends at the SLC (Student Life Center). While I’ve built strong connections, I hope to expand my social circle next semester. Academically, I look forward to finishing my General Education courses soon so I can focus on taking marketing-related classes.

Tip for future students

My biggest tip for future students is to get involved! Joining clubs is a great way to meet new people and gain professional experience for any major. Personally, Her Campus at FSU has helped me strengthen my writing and marketing skills while also introducing me to some close friends. I would also encourage attending events that interest you, even if you don't have anyone to go with, as it's a great opportunity to meet people who share similar hobbies.

Favorite class

My favorite class has been Innovation by Design (ENT 3607). I had no idea what to expect when I signed up for it in my first semester at FSU, but it turned out to be one of the most engaging classes I’ve taken. I worked with my team on a project focused on innovating education, which was the field we chose to explore. It was a fun way to think creatively and collaborate with others.

Career goals

After college, I hope to move to a different state or even country and work for a well-known company. My marketing degree offers flexibility, allowing me to potentially enter a variety of industries, so I have time to decide what works best for me. At the moment, I’m interested in the sports and music areas. I’d love to start my career as a social media marketer for companies like ESPN or Spotify.

Ideal way to spend a free night

My ideal way to spend a free night starts consists of going to the Student Life Center (FSU’s movie theater) with friends to watch an exciting movie and eat their amazing popcorn. After that, we’d have some dessert at The Den, which is close by and is the last campus restaurant to close. Finally, we’d hang out in one of our dorms to chat until we’re too tired and have to go to sleep.
