I'm Liya and I am a sophomore here at the College.
I am involved on campus as a Desk Assistant, C40 tour guide, Christian bible study, and a new member of the Ballroom dancing class. I am described by most as a ray of sunshine, kindhearted, and very welcoming to others. I love helping others, making them feel seen, and cared for. In my free time I enjoy connecting with God, exercising, exploring the city, and trying new food places.

Describe your college experience
Initially coming into college, the adjustment was challenging for me. I struggled getting out of my comfort zone to ask for help or socialize. Since then, I have learned to evolve and the importance of pushing yourself out of your comfort zone. As of my sophomore year, I have been the most involved at a school ever and am so ready to see the growth of knowledge and my skill set in the following year.
Favorite class
African American Studies was a class that I really found interest in. I enjoyed the way it opened up my eyes to new perspectives.
Career goals
I am attending more schooling to attain a degree as a dental hygienist and plan to join the reserves.
Ideal way to spend a free night
In bed watching tv, eating a hot meal, and socializing with my friends about the things from our week.
