Describe your college experience
I am very familiar with life in a populous urban environment, so navigating Los Angeles felt very natural to me. I was pleasantly surprised by the warm weather and sunny skies, but certainly felt homesick for the first couple of weeks. However, I quickly found myself making new friends everyday through class, my dorm, and extracurricular activities. USC has truly become a second home to me. I'm forever blessed for the community I've found and can't wait to see how it grows and how I grow over my next few years at this wonderful institution.
Tip for future students
Bring a mattress topper! They make all the difference in making your dorm bed feel as if you're still at home in bed. Always write everything down. It's easy to lose track of all the assignments and readings you have to do as professors offer you more independence in your coursework, so make sure to keep lists or notes of your work.
Favorite class
My favorite class so far has been ASCJ-200: Navigating Media and News in the Digital Age. This class not only featured fascinating lectures spanning topics from misinformation to government regulation of news output, but also allowed students to directly engage with and create various types of creative media, including blogs, Photoshops, and video editing.
Career goals
As a Public Relations and Advertising major, I hope to work in a PR or Communications position preferably in a creative industry, like fashion or music.
Ideal way to spend a free night
I love to go to the women's or men's basketball games at the Galen Center followed by a movie night with my friends at the dorm.
