Hi! My name is Kayla and I'm freshman, pre-med, honors biochemistry student here at Virginia Tech! I love hanging out with friends, driving around with friends, and just being around people in general. Describe your college experience

I had a really easy transition to college. The second I arrived at Tech I knew I was going to love it. I have met some of my best friends here and am so excited to share more about my experience here. I would choose Virginia Tech again and again because of not only the people but the environment in general.

Tip for future students

Before starting school I wish I would have known how important it is to study and take your time learning material. I never truly had to study in high school so coming to college was a huge adjustment. I had to teach myself how to study and I wish more people knew how important office hours are. If your professor is having office hours GO! It will not only hep with the material but sill also help you gain a better relationship with your professors.

Favorite class

My favorite class has been biology. I love biology and just enjoy learning about it so much. I loved every single class and being able to learn and collaborate with other students in my major. I met so many amazing people through this class.

Career goals

After college I hope to go to medical school to become either a geneticist or a surgeon.

Ideal way to spend a free night

My ideal night would be hanging out with my friends in their dorms and watching movies while eating popcorn.
