Out of State Finance and Public Policy Student at UNC Chapel Hill
Hi I'm Opal, a third-year student at UNC double majoring in Business Administration at the Kenan-Flagler Business School and Public Policy with a minor in Data Science. I am heavily involved in premier Kenan-Flagler affiliated clubs including 180 Degrees Consulting, Portfolio Management Team, and Women on Wall Street. Career-wise, I am pursuing Investment Banking and will be intering at Bank of America this upcoming summer. In my free time I love to knit, practice yoga, cheer on the Tarheels at basketball games, and get a bite to eat with friends on Franklin St.

Describe your college experience
UNC was the best choice I could have made when it comes to my undergrad degree. While I faced a lot of uncertainty coming in as an out-of-state student, I have found such a strong community and sense of belonging at Carolina. Additionally, I have found myself facing career prospects I never expected to see in my future.
Tip for future students
1. Freshman year is HARD, there is no getting around it. Have a good attitude and know the tough times will pass. 2. The people you surround yourself with say more about you than anything else - choose wisely and be picky. 3. College is meant to be fun, UNC is a rigorous school but ensure you make time for the experiences you will truly cherish and remember after graduation.
