Describe your college experience
I love all the people I've formed connections with at Tufts, both people I've met through campu groups and organically through campus life. I have a strong personal interest in my course of study and find my classes stimulating. I live a busy life but I find myself fulfilled knowing I'm spending my time doing meaningful things and engaging with life long friends.
Tip for future students
My tip for future students is to not compare yourself to others to harshly. There are infinate unique paths through college and just because you are not doing what someone else is doing does not mean you are falling behind. Harshly sizing yourself up against other students can lead to "imposter syndrome" and be detrimental to your wellbeing. As long as you engage with your interests and find communities you like, you can't go wrong.
Favorite class
I've loved my Chinese cinema class. In my time studying Chinese language, I've learned a lot about Chinese art and modern Chinese history, however it was great to have a class fully dedicated to watching Chinese films and placing them in a broader artistic and historical context. I also got to practice my Chinese outside of a language class!
Career goals
After graduation I hope to work for a time as a K-12 educator or find work as an educator in China. After that I hope to return to school and enter the workforce again as a clinical social worker or psychotherapist.
Ideal way to spend a free night
I love social latin dancing, there are a few places which host regular dance socials nearby that I frequent. Besides dancing, I love to invite friends over and make dinner for them. And, after a long week it can be great to just have some tea and watch a movie with my housemates.
