Second Year Student at Clemson University

Hey y'all! My name is Jocelyn and I'm so excited to be a part of your Clemson experience! I am currently a freshman heading into my Sophomore year here at Clemson. I am from Greenville, SC, so Clemson has always been such a big part of my life. Some of my favorite things to do are attending cycling classes, taking walks around campus, and hanging out with friends on Bowman Field!

Describe your college experience

First off, Clemson is more than just a school; it's a community. From the moment I stepped on campus, I felt this incredible sense of belonging. Whether it's cheering in Death Valley on a Saturday night, participating in a club, or just hanging out on Bowman Field, there's always a strong sense of school spirit and togetherness. Academically, Clemson is top-notch. The professors are passionate and dedicated, and there are so many different majors and programs to choose from. I've found that the classes are challenging but also really rewarding, and there are tons of resources available to help you succeed, like academic advisors, tutoring centers, and library services. But college isn't just about academics, right? Clemson has an amazing campus life. There are hundreds of clubs and organizations, so you can easily find your niche, whether you're into sports, music, community service, or something else entirely. Plus, there are always events happening on campus, from concerts and festivals to movie nights and sporting events. And speaking of sports, Clemson's got some serious teams! Football season is an absolute blast, and being part of the Clemson Family during those games is an experience you'll never forget.

Tip for future students

Get Involved: Clemson has hundreds of clubs and organizations, from academic to social to service-oriented. Joining a few will help you find your community, make friends, and pursue your interests. Embrace the Clemson Spirit: School spirit is a huge part of the Clemson experience. Attend sporting events, participate in traditions, and wear your orange and purple proudly! Manage Your Time Wisely: College is a big adjustment, and balancing academics, extracurriculars, and a social life can be challenging. Develop good time management skills early on to stay on top of your coursework and avoid feeling overwhelmed.
