Senior at the University of Maryland
Hi! My name is Olivia, and I am a senior at the University of Maryland pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Psychology with a minor in Sociology. I am originally from Westchester, NY, and I will be starting occupational therapy school in the fall. Throughout my time at UMD, I’ve been involved in leadership roles, social events and hands-on experiences that have shaped my academic and career journey. I love helping prospective students get a feel for campus life and all the opportunities UMD has to offer. I can’t wait to share my experiences and answer any questions you may have!

Describe your college experience
My college experience so far has been great, I have really enjoyed all my courses and have had amazing professors who are incredibly knowledgable and commited to their careers. I will admit however, I didn't have the easiest transition to college as I only knew a few people and had to adjust to being far away from home for the first time. However, over the years this place has become my new home and I am so grateful for the experiences, memories and relationships I have made along the way!
Tip for future students
My tip for future students is to always say yes, to go to as many events and opportunities as possible to make the most out of your 4 years of college. It may seem like you have a long time, but it definitely goes by quick!
Favorite class
My favorite class I've taken at UMD is PSYC300: Research Methods in Psychology. I really enjoyed this class because we conducted our own research study using several different types of methods.
Career goals
After college, I am attending graduate school to earn my doctorate degree in occupational therapy.
