Senior Undergraduate Biology Major (2 years of tour experience)
Hi! I'm a senior at UNC-CH with a major in Biology and a minor in Data Science. I've been leading tours for the Office of Undergraduate Admissions for close to 2 years now, so I know the campus inside and out. I'm involved in a few different on-campus organizations, including a comedy club, an advisory committee to the Dean, and have worked at a few places on campus. I'd love to show you around Chapel Hill's gorgeous campus!

Describe your college experience
I've had a great time at UNC. I struggled a bit my first semester being away from home, but luckily the friends I met in my freshman dorm helped me feel more included on campus. I've learned so much in my classes and have met so many knowledgeable and interesting professors. After I joined Comedy, Inc., my world at UNC opened up and I've been able to participate in the vast range of performance art that is showcased around campus. My favorite part about UNC is how much there is to do here, and how the campus and town are really geared towards students!
Tip for future students
Time management is the most important skill that you'll need at any college. Making sure you stick to a study schedule, as well as making sure you're leaving time for hanging out with friends, going to club meetings, and practicing self-care, are incredibly important to maintaining balance at UNC.
Favorite class
My favorite class has been ENGL308 ("Gram-o-Rama"). It was a performance-based English class that focused on the interplay between grammar, musicality, and comedy. It's a little hard to explain, but I learned so much about the English language and had a really fun time doing so. I have also really enjoyed the classes I've taken for my Data Science minor, especially my GIS (Geographic Information Systems) classes, which have been so interesting that I'm considering further schooling in geography or geoinformatics.
Career goals
My "big" career goal is to work for the Environmental Protection Agency, but to do so, I'm hoping to get my masters in either Environmental Health/Public Health or Geoinformatics.
Ideal way to spend a free night
Normally, I like to just hang out at home and watch TV or relax, but on nights I'm feeling more extroverted, I love to explore all the different events happening on campus. My favorites are the performance arts events (theater shows, stand-up comedy, musical performances), but by using the website "Heellife", you can see every single fun event going on around campus that night!
