University of California, Berkeley

Third-year at UC Berkeley studying Economics and Public Policy

I am orginially from Southern California but am now based in the Bay Area. I enjoy reading, playing tennis, playing the guitar and bass, and have recently taken up crocheting. I'm also a big Kpop fan and know a little too much about movies.

Describe your college experience

My transistion was difficult at first due to family circumstances that arose my freshman year. I was lucky enough to find an strong support system at Cal that helped me get through it. By getting involved on campus, I have gained so many opportunities and have met so many amazing people.

Tip for future students

Get involved! It may seem daunting at first since there are so many clubs and organizations but its the best way to make the most of your college experience. I wish I would have joined clubs my first semester to get off to a better start but its never too late. I've found that putting myself out there improved both my personal and academic life.

Favorite class

I've loved a lot of my classes at Cal but id say my favorite class so far has been Principles of Sociology: American Cultures. It was a very informative and eye-opening class. It taught me so much about the conditions in which we live in and the historical events that created them. It further inspired me to pursue economics and public policy to make a positive impact on communities.

Career goals

I hope to continue my studies in economics to pursue a life-long career in policy making or research that influences policy decisions.

Ideal way to spend a free night

Eating some good takeout and watching a movie with my friends.
