Florida State University
Third Year Environmental Science Student at Florida State :)
Hi! I am a junior at Florida State University majoring in environmental science and policy with a focus in oceanography. I have a passion for animals and all things nature with hopes of working in coral reef conservation. I enjoy thrifting, cooking, traveling, and being outside. I lived in Jacksonville most of my life before coming to Tallahassee, but being a military kid I have had my fair share of traveling. I feel my time here at Florida State has been unique and I want to share my experience to help future students decide what is best for them, I look forward to meeting you!

Describe your college experience
The transition from high school to college was definitely a bit of a struggle for me, I did not know anyone coming into such a large school with a huge reputation. I will admit if you are more introverted like me, it can be difficult to adjust. However, that is not to say you won't find your way because once you do, college is great. I have had so many opportunities to explore my interests, expand my knowledge, and meet like-minded people.
Tip for future students
Being introverted at such a large school is difficult. You have to be willing to put yourself out there. My best piece of advise would be to say yes to everything. Obviously not everything, but just say yes to opportunities even if you think you won't enjoy it. Also, you have to be self disciplined, there is no one holding your hand making sure you are getting to class everyday. If you are not motivated to learn, you will definitely struggle to find your way, so that is something to think about and work on.
Favorite class
FSU weather casting (MET3940) with Nancy Dignon for sure, you get to act as a real weatherman!
Career goals
I plan on traveling before going to grad school to further my education in marine sciences.
Ideal way to spend a free night
I enjoy going out and trying new restaurants with friends. I also love just binge watching my favorite shows and movies, I'm currently on a Marvel movie marathon.
High school or secondary school
I attended Fleming Island High School in Jacksonville, FL.
