Transfer Junior Excited to Introduce You to UNC's Beautiful Campus.

Hello! I'm Cassandra and I'm a recent transfer student studying economics. Though school takes up most of my time, I try to make time for my hobbies which include cooking, baking, hiking, and reading. UNC is a great school, from its academics to its student body, and I am excited to guide you around the place I now call my home.

Describe your college experience

My transition to college was relatively smooth. I think coming from a community college helped me adjust quickly to UNC. I think I was most surprised by the large number of students in many of my classes. It can be difficult to interact with professors in classes with 200 + students, but I have found that this fosters a sense of proactivity in myself and in my classmates.

Tip for future students

Don't be afraid to ask for help or to use the resources made available to you (tutoring, office hours, etc.). At the end of the day, you have to take responsibility for your own education. Don't let your inaction be the reason why you aren't able to do your best in school.

Favorite class

My favorite class has been my LIFT (lifetime fitness) class. I was able to learn how to swim! The instructor was amazing, and I enjoyed being able to get consistent workouts in throughout the week.

Career goals

I'm not sure, but I love traveling, so anything involving a lot of moving around is right up my ally.

Ideal way to spend a free night

Cooking up a feast and baking sweet treats.

High school or secondary school

Homeschooled!

Previous college

Central Piedmont Community School. The transfer experience was seamless. All of my credits transferred over to UNC, and I've been able to meet many other transfer students.

Meeting point

Morehead-Patterson Bell Tower on the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill campus
