Describe your college experience
While it was difficult leaving home, the first semester was definitely a high, and I fell in love with Virginia Tech and made new friends. After coming back from winter break it has been a little more difficult, but I am hopeful that as the weather gets nicer, school will feel more like it did in the fall. Academically, my classes are harder than high school, but there are so many opportunities to get help, and I believe that you get out what you put in. I was hesitant to attend my state school, but it truly is the perfect place for me.
Tip for future students
Do not be able to put yourself out there, join lots of clubs because this is a great way to not only make new friends, but also connect with people that have similar interests to you. Be as social as you can with people in your hall, classes, or really anywhere.
Favorite class
My favorite class has been Medical Dilemmas and Human Experience. This is a class I took only to fill a pathway requirement, but I have really enjoyed it. Many of my classes are very large, but this is smaller. I get to really connect with people in my class and have great, controversial discussions in a respectful manner.
Career goals
After college I hope to attend physician assistant school and eventually become a pediatric physician assistant.
Ideal way to spend a free night
My ideal way to spend a free night is finding a fun new place for dinner, then going out and having fun with my friends.
